This ketubah gave me the opportunity to meld my non ketubah work with my illuminated manuscripts.
I enjoy painting floating islands and fantastique situations.
The floating island is both bizarre and freeing.
The thought of a floating city, waterfalls flowing from its surface to whatever lies below.
Architecture mimicking that of two thousand years of eath bound civilizations.
The idea of floating of being unbound and tethered to the ground, free to face adventure a vast space for potential.
Between the waters below and the island is the ketubah text, also part of the sky, where blue dots mix to form the ethereal.
